Computer Systems Analyst I

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) plays a crucial role in providing healthcare across the province, serving a diverse population spread over vast geographic areas. With a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, NLHS oversees a network of hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community health services.


In alignment with the Provincial Health Accord, NL Health Services will be replacing Meditech Magic and Client Server (CRMS) with a new leading-edge Health Information System (HIS). This project will be the largest health care system implementation ever launched in Newfoundland and Labrador. On their behalf, we are currently recruiting Computer Systems Analysts I to join this major project.


Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Monitoring system performance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions.
  • Participating in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans.
  • Performing analysis and design of client requests; implementing and testing the design.
  • Documenting new and exiting business rules for new and existing systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science degree or a Commerce or Business degree supplemented by a graduate diploma in Information Technology, minimum one year (900 hours duration) or from a recognized Technical College with a minimum three-year Computer Studies Diploma.
  • Minimum of three years' experience with Unified Communications and systems design is required.
  • Current working knowledge of Unified Communications protocols and technologies.
  • Industry standard certification in Unified Communications technologies would be considered an asset.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors to gather requirements and drive project success.
  • A satisfactory record of work performance is required.

  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
  • A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct.

Job Details:

  • Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly (Shift work may be required).
  • Salary: CG-37 ($35.42 /hr- $39.58 /hr).
