On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager to join their team of dedicated professionals in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The Sales Manager will be responsible to manage and direct the sales team. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation process of the sales department, the Sales Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate activities of the sales team and assist in administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the needs of the sales department and the general public sales demands.
- Monitor and adjust inventory to account to demand and required OMS ordering.
- Monitor the sales process as it flows through each department.
- Approve and oversee all deals on the sales floor.
- Assist in developing process to address issues and department sales promotions.
- Seek out new vendors, suppliers and manufacturers and negotiate terms and pricing for greater profitability.
- Perform reviews on all staff members at least annually.
- Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) all customer complaints related to your department.
- Assist staff in solving problems and improving their performance.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
Set Goals:
- Plan, organize, direct, and control your sales staff to meet these goals. Use these goals to help your department maximize their potential.
- At the beginning of each month, counsel with each sales rep to establish realistic goals for the month and action plan.
- Achieve forecasted goals by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) your written plan of action.
- Monitor each subordinate’s daily performance and compare it with their monthly goals. Those who are on or above their goals should be recognized for their achievement. Those who are not on a pace to meet their goals should be given the help they need to get them back on target.
Maintain:
- Dealership standards. See to it that all the standards set for the Sales Department are met. This includes attendance tracking, professional appearance, and behavior.
- Departmental budget.
As the ideal candidate, you are a self-motivated and driven leader possessing four years related expereince and/or training in unit sales, with a minimum of two years expereince or equivalent in a supervisory/management capacity. Strong social skills and demonstrated ability to interact with others on a professional level will be key to success in the role. With exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. The successful candidate must have a great attitude and willingness to learn. Eagerness to be compensated for doing what you enjoy is essential! Familiarity with inventory control will be preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required.
Physical Demands:
- The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to use keyboard and computer for extended length of time.
- The ability to spend the majority of the day on your feet.
