Right Traffic is a leading company in the Traffic Control industry, experiencing rapid growth across North America. As the fastest-growing national traffic control company, we are excited to partner with them to hire a Corporate Controller to work out of their HQ in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced CPA to oversee all financial and accounting operations.


Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Responsible for internal and external financial reporting to various stakeholders including financial statements and analysis
  • Responsible for overseeing and executing accounting activities of the Company including daily transactions such as General Ledger, AP, AR, payroll, etc.
  • Manages the monthly accounting processes, developing and communicating quality standards for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for the Company;
  • Assists with the development budget process and variance tracking to better ensure financial targets and operational goals are met;
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Lead the integration of accounting functions post-acquisition, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Manages annual external audits;
  • Manages banking activities including covenants and daily cash requirements;
  • Manages an annual work plan and tracking key reporting dates and requirements to ensure strict deadlines are met;
  • Provides financial and accounting standards expertise;
  • Works with and supports operations to interpret their operational events from a financial perspective and flagging potential issues.
  • Responds to questions and initiates actions which foster continuous improvement of the financial processes;
  • Champions the use of resources and new technology to drive operational efficiencies and adoption of best practices;
  • Provides management and supervision to accounting team, further developing a shared service format for the Company;
  • Other duties and special projects as required.


The ideal candidate will possess:

 

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is a must;
  • Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience;
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting / GL, month end close, and cash management;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities leveraging sound attention to detail and strong organization skills;
  • Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes, systems, and controls;
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills;
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels in the organization;
  • Curiosity and an action-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working with PE firms would be a strong asset;
