Meridia is proud to be partnered with Gibbons Snow Architects in their search for a talented Senior Architectural Technologist to join their busy and growing team in St. John’s, NL.

 

Role Description

The Senior Architectural Technologist will be responsible for supporting senior staff by taking on substantial project responsibilities. They will be tasked with managing projects independently and effectively meeting deadlines while working within a collaborative environment. Through guidance and expertise, the Sr. Architectural Technologist will provide support during all project phases, including design and development, drafting, construction oversight, and team coordination.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with architects and designers to develop detailed architectural drawings and plans.
  • Aiding in the preparation of construction documents and providing quality control oversight.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Coordinating with engineers and contractors to verify design compliance.
  • Reviewing and revising drawings based on feedback from clients and project stakeholders.
  • Maintaining organized project files and documentation.
  • Leading technical coordination efforts and conducting peer reviews of drawing packages.
  • Managing contract administration tasks during construction phases.

Your qualifications include:

  • Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology from a Canadian institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in a technologist or technician role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with coworkers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
