Role Description:

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President of Operations & Delivery, the Director of Information Technology Services (ITS) is ultimately responsible for all information technology systems including networks, applications, and databases. Additionally, the Director of ITS is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of corporate IT functions, aligning infrastructure, security, development, and support objectives and programs to business objectives and strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:  

• Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Define and implement cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and security.
• Manage cloud service providers, contracts, and vendor relationships to optimize cost and performance.
• Budget responsibility for hardware infrastructure purchases, Amazon Web Services, and internal IT costs.
• Lead the team providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Drive automation and optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of cloud services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and provide strategic guidance on IT solutions.
• Monitor cloud performance, security, and capacity, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize resources.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on technological vision, initiatives, performance, and key metrics.
• Engage with business leaders and clients to understand needs and translate them into technology-driven solutions.
• Provide thought leadership to drive strategy and innovation across the organization.
• Contribute to strategic planning decisions with the Leadership Team.
• Work with the Development Team to shape the environment, run projects, and provide feedback regarding ongoing projects and demands.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology-related field or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, design, and implementation, with a proven track record of success in leading cloud initiatives.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud platforms.
• Technical expertise in the following:
  • NAS and SAN Storage
  • Infrastructure virtualization with VMware
  • Microsoft 365 Productivity SaaS Solution
  • Linux Systems administration
  • Core Networking (firewalls, switching, WIFI)
  • Disaster Recovery Services
  • DevOps Processes and Technologies
• Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, with a focus on driving results and delivering value to the organization.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect would be considered an asset.
