We are looking for a talented, self-motivated individual to join our team as an Emerging (1-3 years) Designer, working on custom single-family and dynamic multifamily residential projects throughout the Bay Area.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing people-person who is extremely organized, works well with deadlines and is driven to help grow a creative design firm with a teamwork-based collaborative approach.

You will work closely with the Project Managers, Job Captains and Principals to take exciting design-driven projects from conception through completion.

This is a full-time position with a base salary commensurate with experience. A full benefits package, along with the firm’s vacation practices are available.

Responsibilities include project research, 3D modeling, visualization, feasibility studies, and the development of project drafting and documentation in SD, DD, CD, and CA phases. Familiarity with building codes, building systems, construction detailing, and a willingness to learn will lead to success in this position.

 

In the first three months you can expect to:

  • Develop familiarity with the firm’s design and documentation standards, software, systems, and processes
  • Have one-on-one meetings with all members of the firm
  • Meet with firm leaders to discuss your professional interests, skills, and goals
  • Assist in design and documentation for projects on the boards
  • Over time you will have opportunities to:
  • Receive mentoring and participate in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate on design teams to deliver creative, sustainable, and impactful projects
  • Engage in professional development and training that lead towards licensure or project leadership opportunities
  • Contribute energy, ideas, and expertise that help the firm grow and evolve

 

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of architecture practice experience
  • Some practical experience with single-family residential design and interiors is preferred.
  • Some practical experience with multifamily residential design preferred
  • Basic technical knowledge of different construction types, building systems, and building codes, including wood-framed residential construction.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Excel is appreciated.
  • Ability to communicate ideas with freehand sketches and physical/3D models
  • Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills. Excellent professional email communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects and maintain progress in several areas simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and able to produce accurate, succinct, and complete work
  • Progress on path to Licensure is appreciated

 

Requirements:

  • Accredited degree in architecture; M.Arch or 5-year B.Arch. Interior Architecture degrees will also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit. We are an all-Revit office and expect you to be ready to work from day one.
  • English language proficiency (speaking a second language is a plus)
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
