Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Office of Accessibility and Academic Accommodations, the Accessibility & Learning Strategies Specialist supports students with ADHD and other protected needs by coordinating accommodations, providing individualized learning strategies and coaching, and collaborating across the University to ensure equitable, inclusive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Office of Accessibility and Academic Accommodations, the Accessibility & Learning Strategies Specialist supports students with ADHD and other protected needs by coordinating accommodations, providing individualized learning strategies and coaching, and collaborating across the University to ensure equitable, inclusive learning experiences.
- Coordinate and implement reasonable accommodations, including assistive technologies, extended exam/assignment times, and accessible materials.
- Evaluate psychoeducational assessment reports and create individualized academic accommodation plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of accommodation requests, approvals, implementations, and student progress.
- Recommend and manage technologies that enhance accessibility and learning support across courses. Faculty & Staff Collaboration
- Partner with faculty, program heads, and staff to promote accessibility awareness and inclusive teaching practices.
- Provide guidance on accommodating diverse learning needs in the classroom.
- Develop workshops, training materials, and webinars to support faculty and staff in implementing accessibility best practices. Continuous Improvement & Advocacy
- Monitor the effectiveness of accommodations and coaching interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
- Research and maintain up-to-date FAQs and resources regarding accessibility and accommodations.
- Advocate for inclusive policies and practices within the academic community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience in ADHD coaching, learning strategies instruction, or executive functioning support in post-secondary contexts.
- Knowledge of Canadian disability laws, accessibility regulations, and post-secondary accommodations processes.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies, accessibility software, and hybrid learning environments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and cultural competence in supporting students with varied needs.
- Hybrid with 4 days on campus, 1 day remote.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to support urgent cases, educational programming, or hearings.
- Exposure to emotionally sensitive or distressing content, requiring resilience and use of appropriate self-care strategies.
- Minimal physical risk; low to moderate mental/emotional stress inherent to case management and student-support work.

This position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $67,000 annually, with placement within the range based on experience, education, and internal equity.
