Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Harriman, an architectural and engineering firm based in Auburn, Maine is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. As an engineer in this multi-discipline firm, you’ll have the opportunity to support a wide range of projects with various clients throughout Maine and New England.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate with a team of design professionals engaged in a variety of development projects.
  • Design and manage civil engineering and land development projects including grading, storm drainage, utility design, environmental design, facility planning, site layout, roadway design, and permitting.
  • Complete engineering calculations for grading, drainage design, storm-water modeling, erosion and sediment control, and storm-water permitting.
  • Research and pursue independent civil engineering opportunities with state and local agencies and municipalities.
  • Prepare technical reports and assessments, including applications for LEED certifications
  • Assist with the development of project proposals and develop project budgets
  • Produce engineering documents and civil specifications, including permitting documents for state and local permits
  • Conduct comprehensive quality assurance peer reviews within the civil engineering discipline and coordination with the mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural trades.
  • Support projects during the construction administration phase


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of related experience in Civil Engineering
  • A Professional Engineering license is required, with ability to obtain registration in other states.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with all State of Maine and National codes and standards
  • Active in professional engineering organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain client relationships
  • Strong knowledge of project management, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of producing documents in AutoCAD, experience in Revit is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
