With rapid growth across marine industrial, vessel, and office operations, they are seeking a highly skilled Safety & Compliance Manager to strengthen and advance their safety culture.
The Safety & Compliance Manager will develop, implement, and manage all occupational health, safety, and compliance programs across Sea Centric’s operational environments. This includes ensuring compliance with Transport Canada regulations, ISO-aligned systems, company safety management systems, port safety programs, and marine operational standards.
The ideal candidate brings a marine or industrial background, excels at interpreting complex regulatory frameworks, and is capable of making confident decisions in a high‑accountability role. This is both a reactive and systemic safety function, addressing issues as they arise while also building proactive systems, training, and safeguards to prevent recurrence.

What You Will Do
- Lead occupational health and safety activities across office, port, and vessel environments.
- Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations, industry standards, and internal safety management systems.
- Maintain alignment with ISO-based systems and ensure documentation meets required standards.
- Implement, maintain, and improve the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Build and execute marine industrial safety and compliance processes, including developing safety frameworks from the ground up.
- Develop and update safety procedures for marine operations, equipment, and work practices.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments for vessels, projects, and operational activities.
- Support teams in hazard identification and the implementation of protective measures.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Drive systemic improvements to prevent recurrence and enhance overall safety culture.
- Review RFP requirements and ensure vessels meet documentation and compliance standards for each project.
- Provide clear safety guidance to operational teams to ensure readiness before vessel deployment.
- Collaborate with marine crews, technicians, industry clients and leadership to align safety practices with operational needs.
- Apply project management skills to coordinate safety planning, documentation, and continuous improvements.
- Deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks for staff and vessel crews.
- Communicate safety expectations clearly and effectively across all levels, from field teams to executive leadership.
- Promote a proactive, accountable, and positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Hold a diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Bring 5–10 years of OHS experience within marine, industrial, or oil & gas environments.
- Experienced with Safety Management Systems (SMS) in vessel, port, or industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of Transport Canada regulations and marine operational safety.
- Experienced working with ISO-aligned or ISO-compliant systems.
- Capable of building safety systems, documentation, and processes from the ground up.
- Comfortable supporting both office-based and field/vessel-based operational teams.
- Skilled in conducting investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Confident decision-maker with strong follow-through, autonomy, and accountability.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, expanding environment.
