We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join The Bragg Group's corporate team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the tax function across the entire Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and supporting the Group’s financial and operational goals.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage the Group’s overall tax function across multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the Group’s tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units to provide tax guidance on transactions, projects, and business initiatives.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities as needed.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries, ensuring appropriate documentation and responses.
- Manage income taxation for the Group, including Canadian tax compliance, installments, research, audit coordination, forecasting, and risk management.
- Provide guidance to business units on indirect tax matters.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the Group’s operations.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in tax, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Enrolled in or completed the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax legislation; experience with international and US corporate tax is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage complex tax issues and provide strategic insights.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-industry environment.
