Meridia Recruitment is excited to partner with Country Ribbon in seeking a Controller to join their leadership team in St. John’s, NL. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you’ll lead the Finance and IT functions, contribute to long-term planning, and support the company’s growth and transformation. As Controller, you’ll be a key voice at the senior leadership table, bringing clarity, confidence, and sound financial thinking to organizational decision-making. The Controller will work across departments, dive into financial systems and data, and help build a more efficient, performance-driven organization.
The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic financial leader, overseeing the organization’s financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting functions with precision and foresight. They will assume full accountability for the optimization of financial systems and processes, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with enterprise objectives. In close collaboration with IT, they will ensure that financial infrastructure effectively supports the company’s evolving business strategy. The Controller will enhance and implement robust performance metrics and KPIs, and provide analytical foundation for informed decision-making. As a key contributor to strategic planning and organizational transformation, they will deliver critical financial insights that shape the company’s direction and drive sustainable growth.

Key Selection Criteria:
Education & Credentials:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
- A CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is required.
- Proven financial leadership experience including financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting within a complex environment
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, or a related sector is an asset
- Experience working with Procurement, IT systems and understanding their business impact
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on performance and efficiency
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and great attention to detail
