Role Description
The RF Engineer will contribute to all phases of product development, from initial concept through system design, to component development, testing, and the successful production of high-power electronic components.

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is pleased to partner with Nautel in the search for a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join their team in Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia.
Role Description
The RF Engineer will contribute to all phases of product development, from initial concept through system design, to component development, testing, and the successful production of high-power electronic components.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop system elements such as amplifiers, splitters, combiners, filters, and RF loads, collaborating with customers across broadcast, military, and industrial sectors.
- Support the integration of system components, including preparation of production drawing packages and creation of product technical documentation.
- Apply creativity and resourcefulness to rapid prototyping using available tools and materials.
- Develop and assemble experimental setups, including drafting and executing test procedures.
- Conduct investigative testing and evaluation of prototype hardware and software systems.
- Maintain comprehensive records of design activities and experimental findings, and report on project progress regularly.
- Ensure product designs meet quality standards and cost objectives.
- Provide technical assistance to Production, Customer Service, and Sales teams.
- Participate in system implementation, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Represent the organization through direct client engagement and participation in industry events, including conferences, trade shows, and technical presentations.
- Engage in and support continuous improvement initiatives across product and process development.

You’re a team player who loves to collaborate, but you can also be trusted to work independently and produce. Most of all, you have the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and integrate them into practical applications, and you have proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.

Your qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and accomplishments;
- 10+ years of experience in RF component/product design with a deep understanding of RF design principles;
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, Ansys, ADS, and MATLAB;
- Strong knowledge of test equipment operation, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Familiarity with communication and navigation systems, as well as power, analog, digital electronics, and/or passive networks is an asset;
- Previous hands-on experience across all phases of product design is considered an asset;
- Experience using CAD tools such as KiCad and Fusion 360 is considered an asset;
- Leadership experience or prior roles in team leadership are considered an asset.
Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants may need to acquire a valid Canadian Security Clearance.
