Meridia Recruitment has partnered with the Canmore Illusions Gymnastics Club to recruit a Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Program Director.
Governed by a Board of Directors and led by the Club Manager, the CIGC is a not-for-profit club of 600 athletes including both recreational (>500 athletes) and competitive streams (65 athletes). Located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the club offers Women’s Competitive Artistic Gymnastics, Recreational programs from preschool to adult ages and specialty programs like parkour and trampoline. They employ between 15 and 20 coaches on a yearly basis, and provide services out of the 11,000SF fully equipped gymnastics gymnasium in the Canmore Recreation Centre.
Reporting to the Club Manager the WAG Program Director will possess the experience and professional maturity to lead and inspire others to success. In this position the WAG Program Director will be responsible for the quality and development of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Program at CIGC. Supporting and building on CIGC’s existing competitive programs the WAG Program Director will provide exceptional coaching to athletes, mentorship to group coaches, ensure quality training methods, perform administration for competitive programming and develop new opportunities for competitive athletes within the club. Additionally, they will have the experience of provincial or western competition with a commitment to building relationships within the Alberta Gymnastics Federation and broader community. Partnering with the Club Manager, Recreational Program Director and CIGC management, the WAG Program Director will build continued trust through their actions with a focus on safety, reliability and capability.

Skills and Experience
- Competition Intro Advanced (C2) or Development (C3) Certified
- Minimum 8 years of competitive coaching experience with 3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of the CCP and Xcel Programs
- Team Oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- High degree of professionalism
- Post secondary education in Kinesiology or Physical Education is considered an asset
What is Offered to Staff
- Strong compensation, $75,000 - $88,750. Commensurate with experience.
- Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 1-9pm, Saturdays when needed (open house, pre-assessments, mock meets etc).
- Benefits: Extended health care benefits, 3 weeks’ vacation as well as sick days, personal days and lieu days
