Role Description
As a key member of an experienced and collaborative design team, you will lead EFP Engineering’s Electrical division and play a pivotal role in shaping its growth. This leadership opportunity includes building and mentoring a high-performing team while delivering electrical design services across a diverse portfolio of multi-residential, institutional, and commercial projects. You’ll be actively involved in both the technical design process and the hands-on management of projects, including construction administration, ensuring practical, cost-effective, and coordinated solutions.

Role Description

You’ll be actively involved in both the technical design process and the hands-on management of projects, including construction administration, ensuring practical, cost-effective, and coordinated solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing concept and detailed design expertise for various construction projects.
- Overseeing and assuming full responsibility of electrical construction drawings.
- Defining the electrical design project scope and working to develop designs that meet industry code and client expectations in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Participating in multiple phases of firm operations including responding to proposals, preparing specifications, and bid documents, contract administration and construction reviews, budgeting, and scheduling control as it relates to electrical engineering.
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients.
- Providing insight and mentorship to the electrical engineering team while ensuring high technical standards.
- Design and implement reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operational systems.
- Coordinate documentation across internal and external teams to ensure project clarity and alignment.
- Maintain rigorous standards for project documentation, administration, and quality management.
- Foster strong relationships with consultants, vendors, and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Support accounts receivable processes to uphold project financial accountability.
- Lead client meetings and deliver presentations to align project progress with objectives and expectations.
Your Qualifications

Your qualifications include:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Years of experience in the consulting sector with at least 2 years of experience as a P.Eng.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia is required. Ability to obtain registration with Engineers Nova Scotia by transferring from another Canadian jurisdiction will be considered.
- Ability to confidently apply your experiences to new challenges.
- Ability to be highly organized and consistently meet agreed timelines.
- Ability to manage projects and a design team, including electrical draftsman and EITs and other Professional Engineers.
