Sr. Law Clerk – Personal Injury

Our client, a reputable, multi-service law firm servicing clients in Toronto and throughout Ontario, is currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate Law Clerk with intensive experience in personal injury law, specifically Torts to join their team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on various types of cases under the guidance of a very senior lawyer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:  Assist attorneys in managing a diverse caseload of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and other injury claims.
  • Document Preparation:  Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Communication:  Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress, answering inquiries, and ensuring excellent client service. Similarly maintaining communication with treatment facilities, Insurers, Counsel, LAT and Court
  • Investigation Support:  Collaborate with attorneys in gathering evidence, conducting witness interviews, and obtaining medical records and expert reports.
  • Trial/ED Preparation:  Assist in trial/ED preparation, organizing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and coordinating with court personnel & other counsel.
  • Court Filings:  File and serve legal documents in accordance with court rules and procedures.
  • Mentorship/Task Delegation:  Provide guidance and mentorship to junior law clerks and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field an asset.
  • Paralegal/Law clerk diploma an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software.
  • Familiarity with case management software and e-filing systems.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently.
