Reporting to the Director, Taxation and Risk Management, the Senior Accountant will be an experienced and detailed candidate with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Prior experience in bookkeeping, audit, and corporate tax returns is required.

This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Prior experience in bookkeeping, audit, and corporate tax returns is required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including corporate tax filings and sales tax reporting.
- Prepare corporate tax returns and assist in tax planning strategies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Utilize Caseware for financial reporting, audits, and working paper preparation.
- Assist in special projects and financial analyses as required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferable in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, audits, and corporate tax returns.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Caseware for financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
