The successful candidate will report directly to the organization’s leadership and play a central role in both negotiations and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on market trends, trade issues, and pricing for various fish species.
- Understand the legal and procedural landscape of fish price negotiations in the province.
- Identify information gaps and pursue solutions to address them.
- Monitor market and currency data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Organize and present negotiation documents and key points to committees.
- Assist in drafting and editing arbitration submissions.
- Prepare for and support arbitration proceedings, offering strategic input.
- Lead the development and coordination of organizational policy on a wide range of issues.
- Attend stakeholder meetings to gather insights and represent member interests.
- Develop and deliver presentations on key industry topics and challenges.
- Coordinate policy work across internal teams and contribute to broader research efforts.
What They Are Looking For:
- At least 5 years of experience in negotiations, dispute resolution, and policy development.
- Strong persuasive writing skills, particularly in the context of negotiations and submissions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex topics.
- Robust research and analytical capabilities.
- Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, and policy frameworks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
