CLMW is looking for a Safety Advisor to join the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team. This key role focuses on ensuring workplace safety through the development and oversight of safety programs and compliance initiatives. The Safety Advisor will coordinate safety training, track incident records, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. You will play a critical role in conducting inspections, advising on hazards, and driving improvements in safety practices across the organization.

What You Will Do:
  • Maintain records of incidents and accidents, including settled and contested claims, while promoting best practices across the organization.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and schedule OHS training activities for shop workers.
  • Ensure the proper use of protective clothing and equipment to safeguard worker health and safety.
  • Monitor adherence to safe work procedures across all work areas.
  • Advise workers on potential health and safety hazards and provide clear instructions on precautions to be taken.
  • Lead and evaluate workplace inspections, conducting accident/incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and OHS regulations to ensure full compliance.
  • Identify safety issues, refer them to management, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Lead and facilitate safety meetings, and attend daily Toolbox Talks.
  • Collaborate with health and safety regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for the OHS Program and report findings to management.
  • Assist in achieving and maintaining COR certification.
  • Promote hazard recognition and control throughout the workplace to ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.

Who You Are:
  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably in industrial or mining settings.
  • You possess an Occupational Health & Safety Certification and a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have strong report writing abilities.
  • You have exceptional planning and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality safety standards.
  • You are analytical and possess strong problem-solving abilities, enabling you to identify hazards and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • You are a team player, able to collaborate with others and work independently, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • You have effective conflict resolution skills and the flexibility to take on diverse tasks.
  • You have a valid driver’s license and are willing to work overtime when required.
