Role Description
Reporting to the Director of Design and Engineering, the Engineering Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Engineering department, directly supervising a team of technicians, technologists, and technical specialists. They will manage workflow, perform design reviews, and use their technical expertise to mentor their team as well as assist other departments and networks. The Engineering Lead will have a strong focus on quality and accuracy of information flowing to our internal and external customers while constantly looking to improve.

Role Description

The Engineering Lead will have a strong focus on quality and accuracy of information flowing to our internal and external customers while constantly looking to improve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the team responsible for preparing production and fabrication drawings of residential and commercial buildings relating to architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Provide mentoring & troubleshooting on various design software apps - AutoCAD, Revit, Mitek, etc.
- Perform quality checks of drawings for code compliance and drawing accuracy.
- Prepare/oversee cost estimates & take-offs for special projects.
- Coordinate engineering activities as they relate to the efficient delivery of project output while continuously communicating with factory leads looking for ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- 5+ years of team leadership or mentorship experience in a design/engineering environment.
- A bachelor's degree or Diploma in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or relevant field.
- Computer drafting skills, specifically with AutoCAD and/or Revit, Mitek.
- Knowledge of building codes related to residential and commercial building design.
- Exposure to estimating and quantity takeoffs.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with modular c`onstruction or design would be an asset.
