Full Throttle Power Sports is a state-of-the-art Power Sports Dealership located in Dartmouth Crossing. Privileged to be representing Atlantic Canada with BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) and a full line up in sales, service, and parts, from Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, Can-Am ATV and side-by-sides, and Spyder motorcycles. Meridia is happy to partner with Full Throttle in search of a Service Manager to join their team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. 

Role Description

As the Service Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for the leadership of the Service department, its team members, and all the department’s outputs. This includes preparing and repairing equipment sold and/or inventoried, all relevant operational and administrative requirements to meet key performance goals of departmental profitability, customer-focused service satisfaction, and employee engagement. You will lead your team, providing structure and organization to support their day-to-day work, while ensuring customers are receiving the best level of service possible. 

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring smooth and profitable operation of the Service department
  • Ensuring adequate numbers of trained technicians are on duty during hours of operation
  • Assuming full responsibility for the proper use, security, care, and maintenance of all dealership service equipment
  • Ensuring that all customers are greeted, assisted, and provided every opportunity to receive the maximum and most complete work performed on their unit
  • Processing all completed repair orders, including warranty, and forwarding to accounting for collection
  • Abiding by and enforcing all dealership policies pertaining to the department
  • Ensuring customer products are ready for delivery and/or sale in collaboration with Parts Advisors and Sales team, this includes storage and/or cleaning to full readiness
  • Assessing daily and direct attention in all activities, to ensure the safety and security of colleagues, customers, and company assets 
  • Directing, assisting, monitoring, and motivating department personnel to achieve maximum productivity, efficiency, and profitability
  • Providing and/or arranging training for all departmental staff
  • Providing scheduling for all department staff based upon supporting forecasts of business levels
  • Operating a forklift to move product around the yard as necessary
  • Ensuring yard is kept in a tidy and organized manner and stock is easily and safely accessible

Qualifications

With excellent managerial skills, you have shown an ability to lead a team of individuals to high levels of performance. You have great organizational skills and an attention to detail, which allows you to provide adequate structure for your team. While you may not be technically trained, you have a mechanical aptitude and an interest in motorsports, making you excel at conversing with customers about mechanical issues. Additionally, you have great computer skills, including experience with Microsoft products, and have a hunger to learn in an exciting industry. 

Your qualifications include:
  • Grade 12 High school diploma or equivalent (minimum) 
  • Experience managing a team of people
  • Valid driver’s license, with motorcycle and forklift licenses being considered an asset but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions 
  • Prepared to work Saturday, 8:30am-1pm a minimum of twice per month
  • Strong management skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Facebook) 
  • Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills 
  • Detailed oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 
  • Team player that is punctual, reliable, professional, and presentable
