Now, as they continue to grow, we are partnering with them looking to bring an Accountant to their team in Halifax!


This position plays a key role in City Centre’s finance department. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Payroll Administrator and working closely with the operations and property management departments on a day-to-day basis, the ideal candidate will be an experienced full-cycle accountant who is ready to add value in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.


Responsibilities will include:
 
  • Support the accounting and finance function of the company.
  • Manage AP and AR processes including invoicing and timely bill payments.
  • Set up and maintain vendor accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in JE entries, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports. 
  • Lead bank deposits and cash balance analysis.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support the month-end close process.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and monthly financial reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:
 
  • Experience in an accounting or analytical role paired with post-secondary education in relevant field preferred.
  • Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role in a real estate or property management environment would be a preference.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Spectra, Yardi or similar) would be an asset and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret data.
  • Self-motivated and able to work individually or with multiple teams simultaneously.
  • The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it is information for the company or for individuals.
