The Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving projects to successful completion, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to timelines. With exceptional organizational and communication skills, you will keep clients, consultants, and contractors aligned, fostering collaboration at every stage. Within the field of electrical building services, you are a skilled professional engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a relevant educational background. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operational systems.
- Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion by tracking critical tasks, hours, and milestones.
- Prepare and review system-engineering concepts, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and client expectations.
- Evaluate existing installations and manage project outcomes to meet quality and performance standards.
- Perform calculations, select equipment, and delegate tasks, leveraging the expertise of designers and CAD Technicians.
- Coordinate documentation across internal and external teams to ensure project clarity and alignment.
- Maintain rigorous standards for project documentation, administration, and quality management.
- Oversee shop drawing reviews, collaborating with contract administration to streamline workflows and meet deadlines.
- Manage change notices and respond to technical and financial inquiries, keeping stakeholders informed and preparing contract amendments as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with consultants, vendors, and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Support accounts receivable processes to uphold project financial accountability.
- Lead client meetings and deliver presentations to align project progress with objectives and expectations.
Your Qualifications

- A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Current registration or the ability to register with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- A Certified Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience may also be considered.
- A working knowledge of electrical building systems, including national building and electrical codes. Familiarity with fire alarm systems and power generation is an asset.
- Experience in project management is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working independently on assignments with minimal supervision, while also engaging others as needed to overcome obstacles.
