Role Description
As Plant Manager, you will take on a leadership role overseeing all aspects of Sambro Fisheries’ processing operations. This position combines hands-on support with strategic oversight, giving you the opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be a key player in keeping daily operations running smoothly while planning for long-term success.

- Oversee plant performance, ensuring production and quality standards are consistently met
- Anticipate and troubleshoot issues that could impact production
- Lead, motivate, and hold your team accountable to high standards of performance
- Build positive, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization
- Maintain and enforce strict quality and food safety standards
- Address and resolve quality complaints quickly and effectively
- Keep accurate, timely production and operational records
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules and recommend equipment upgrades when needed
- Foster a strong health and safety culture through compliance and proactive practices
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costs
- Partner with leadership and HR to address employee issues and support team well-being
- Manage plant expenses, balancing productivity with cost control
- Ensure plant cleanliness, tidiness, and overall workplace safety

- Proven experience managing operations in a manufacturing or processing environment; experience in seafood or food processing is a strong asset
- Progressive supervisory or management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable for results
- An understanding of production workflows, quality assurance, and health and safety practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Adaptability to changing operational demands, with a hands-on approach when needed to support plant performance
