As a member of the senior management team in the finance department, you will work closely with other senior members including the Vice President, Director and other senior members of the Finance Team. You will be empowered to assist with the development and oversight of other members on the corporate accounting team and to you will collaborate with various departments across the Company to gather data, develop and maintain financial models to prepare detailed calculations to assist senior management in strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial metrics, complex excel calculations, comfortable working with large volumes of data and working with financial modeling and database programs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Work with the Director on the development and execution of the annual forecasting process. 
    • Conduct regular financial analyses and forecasting to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making.
    • Update financial models and forecasts based on business changes throughout the year.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
    • Periodically reviewing and analyzing revenue and cost reports for variances and reasonability.
  • Data Management and Modeling:
    • Develop and maintain reports for financial planning and analysis software VENA used for forecasting and monthly and annual financial reporting. 
    • Develop and maintain financial models for payment calculations based on revenue data.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
  • Month End Recurring Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality production of monthly financial calculations and reports as assigned.
    • Preparing and /or reviewing assigned monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, including preparing working paper files / detailed account reconciliations and analysis as applicable.
    • Working on special projects as assigned which may relate to process improvements or the implementation of new systems and testing of new procedures.
  • Working with Management to review and analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, process breakdowns with the intent to identify solutions / follow up accordingly.
As the ideal candidate you possess the following experience / characteristics:
  • At least 7-10 years of experience working in an accounting role with proficiency in forecasting and advanced financial data and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency working at an advanced level with Excel.
  • Experience working with accounting general ledger and sales accounting systems (we use Acumatica ERP and TRAMs Back office).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in reporting and analysis.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also able to collaborate and work as part of a team.
