On their behalf, we are seeking an Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in developing detailed cost estimates for steel projects. This role requires a proactive individual who excels in analyzing blueprints, collaborating with project teams, and utilizing SolidWorks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all estimating processes.

On their behalf, we are seeking an Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in developing detailed cost estimates for steel projects. This role requires a proactive individual who excels in analyzing blueprints, collaborating with project teams, and utilizing SolidWorks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all estimating processes.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Use SolidWorks for drafting and modeling to support estimating processes.
- Analyze blueprints and other project documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost models.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
- Create custom drawings for project approval and ensure proposals align with specifications.
- Complete fabrication drawings for materials as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor or manager.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in steel estimating or a related field.
- You are proficient in SolidWorks for drafting and modeling.
- You possess a strong understanding of steel fabrication and construction processes.
- You have excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- You can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- You demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- You are adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You are willing to work overtime occasionally and have basic computer skills; knowledge of Hypertherm ProNest Operating Systems and CAD is an asset.
