Meridia has partnered with CME in the recruitment of an experienced Paint and Coatings Manager to join their growing organization.
Role Description
As the Paint and Coatings Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, execution and safety of projects, overseeing staffing and scheduling to ensure work is completed in a timely manner at the shop location as well as field locations. Your primary responsibilities will include directing and managing all aspects of the Coating business unit, which encompasses Operations and Maintenance. In addition, you will build and maintain positive relationships with clients to promote business development and meet client needs effectively.

Role Description

- Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure projects are executed efficiently and safely, adhering to CME’s high standards of quality and performance.
- Manage workforce allocation and scheduling to guarantee that projects are completed on time, optimizing resources and ensuring that all team members are effectively utilized.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with clients, focusing on business development and effectively addressing their needs.
- Lead the development and implementation of best practices in process development, production, and quality assurance.
- Oversee budgeting, quoting, and cost control measures to ensure that all projects are delivered within financial parameters.
- Ensure that all equipment used in the coating processes is properly maintained and operating at optimal performance to avoid downtime and delays.
- Foster a high-performing team that consistently meets and exceeds expectations in project delivery.
Your Qualifications
You are a strong people leader with supervisory experience in a relevant field, such as industrial coatings, and/or sandblasting. You think proactively, allowing you to effectively plan for the future when developing schedules or implementing new processes. You are a driven individual who enjoys business development. Paid with your skills in estimation and quoting, you are ready for this challenge.
Your qualifications include:
- Supervisory or management experience is required.
- Several years of practical experience with paint mixtures and the overall painting and coating process and knowledge of sandblasting techniques and relevant terminology.
- A NACE or SSPC certification would be considered an asset but not required.
- Knowledge on industry codes applicable to coatings and surface preparation.
- Experience in quoting and estimation for industrial sandblasting and coatings projects.
- Strong root cause evaluation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and scheduling.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute performance-based solutions.
Physical Considerations
- Ability to work proficiently with hands and wrists, including the ability to grasp and manipulate objects.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
