Reporting to the VP Finance, The Manager of Finance is a hands-on role responsible for performing full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and compliance-related activities. This position will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while ensuring the accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial operations, and leadership, with the ability to balance both oversight and detailed execution of finance functions. They should also have strong business acumen and experience across different areas of a business, allowing them to understand Cove Soda’s needs and make meaningful connections between finance and day-to-day operations.


Responsibilities in this role will include:
 
  • Prepare and execute full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor financial performance, key metrics, and variances, providing actionable insights.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and financial regulations.
  • Support audit processes, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial governance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with departments to provide financial insights and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Assist in financial due diligence for investments, capital expenditures, and business initiatives.
  • Leverage financial systems and technology to optimize reporting and automation.

The ideal candidate will possess:
 
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and FP&A.
  • Pragmatic and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with different teams, such as operations and sales, to support financial processes and reporting needs.
  • Comfortable improving day-to-day financial processes and ensuring strong financial controls.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a growing company.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools).
