Meridia Recruitment is thrilled to be partnered with them to bring an Accounting Manager to their growing team in Halifax, NS.


Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will play an essential role in optimizing the company’s financial operations and driving process improvements to keep their team informed, connected and ahead of the curve. This is a hands-on role that will see the Accounting Manager understanding and being an integral part of the full accounts receivable function.


Responsibilities in this role will include:
 
  • Managing accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, accruals, collections, and resolving customer deductions.
  • Tackling complex financial issues, automating workflows, and leading special projects as assigned.
  • Owning the setup and ongoing maintenance of our customer portals, ensuring accurate reporting and proactively resolving discrepancies.
  • Supporting ERP system implementation and maintenance and guiding users along the way.
  • Reconciling revenue transactions and cash receipts to deliver accurate cash flow forecasting.
  • Collaborating with Sales to align financial expectations and refine forecasting tools.
  • Mentoring junior team members and supporting the broader finance team.

The ideal candidate will possess:
 
  • CPA designation or in progress.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated career progression in accounting roles, showcasing growth through increasing levels of responsibility, ideally within fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments and inventory processes is a plus.
  • Prior experience in consumer-packaged goods or food retail environments is an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking skills. 
  • Stellar organizational and multitasking skills—you thrive under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • A knack for solving problems and thriving under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems (bonus if you’ve helped with implementing an ERP).
  • Understanding of foreign exchange and multi-currency exchange for treasury and invoicing purposes.
  • The ability to connect the dots, identify issues before they arise, and bring proactive solutions.
  • A collaborative, positive attitude that inspires trust and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Amazon Vendor Central is an asset.
