Our client a dynamic, downtown Ottawa law firm is currently looking to expand their team with a highly skilled and experienced Wills and Estates Lawyer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and administration. This role requires excellent legal knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion. You will work collaboratively with their corporate, private wealth, tax, and real estate teams to ensure the best outcomes and highest standards for their clients.

Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal advice to clients, estate executors, trustees and beneficiaries on estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate matters.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate filings.
- Managing the administration of estates, including probate proceedings, distribution of assets, and resolution of any disputes that may arise.
- Representing clients in court and other legal proceedings related to estate administration.
- Member of the Ontario Bar, in good standing.
- Three to seven years of work experience as an Associate Lawyer in Ontario, with a practice focus on Wills and Estates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client service.
- Experience in and/or exposure to corporate, tax, and litigation law would be an asset.
- Experience in and/or exposure to estate litigation would be an asset.
- STEP designation would be an asset.
