Role Description:
As an experienced Superintendent with Pomerleau, you will support new and ongoing project growth, challenging industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects, you will work closely with the project management team, various client groups, and subtrades to ensure project excellence through your outstanding leadership, keen eye for detail, and commitment to quality, health, and safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Become the safety champion on all assigned job sites, leading by example in health, safety, and environmental protection;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations;
  • Mentor and guide on-site teams, fostering an environment of collaboration, excellence, and success;
  • Collaborate with trade partners and consultants to drive the construction schedule, ensuring all milestones and completion targets are met;
  • Recommend creative methods to boost efficiency and project excellence;
  • Collaborate with Project Manager’s during site start-up, effectively supporting and acting as a role model in client coordination meetings;
  • Maintain updated and accurate records and inventory for all projects;
  • Play an integral role in the project wrap-up process, celebrating successful achievements with your team(s).

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a highly experienced and driven Superintendent, with a natural ability to promote team collaboration and effective on-site practices. You have led large crews on complex construction projects, from site mobilization through to close out. Most importantly, you are a team player and natural communicator who will maintain safety and compliance as a top priority at all times.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum (5) years’ experience working as a Superintendent in the general contracting or construction management sector working on ICI projects;
  • A construction-related certificate or diploma/degree would be considered a strong asset;
  • A strong track record of project success as a Superintendent, coupled with a natural ability to promote team collaboration;
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety regulations, project scheduling, quality, and cost control;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and come up with creative solutions to overcome barriers that arise over the course of a project;
  • Strong computer skills, as well as demonstrated experience using project scheduling software.
