Role Description:
As an experienced Project Manager, you will manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients and subcontractors to serve as an integral part of the project team. You will be responsible for recommending innovative ideas that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget as well as grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients. Your financial management experience will be used to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing and your expertise in risk management will ensure any associated project risk is minimized.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Be at the forefront of all project procurement and execution activities, including planning, scheduling, estimating, and forecasting project budgets;
  • Lead, mentor, and monitor your internal project team to ensure success and team development;
  • Build and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, contractors, and subtrades;
  • Own the bidding and contracts process, utilizing your expertise in cost control and payment management to maximize profitability;
  • Guide project teams by ensuring seamless coordination of plans and specifications, while managing project finances;
  • Adapt to changing client needs with innovative solutions that showcase your creativity and resourcefulness.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a highly organized and driven construction/project manager, with demonstrated experience managing large-scale building and infrastructure projects. You have experience supporting projects from the pre-construction phase through to project close-out and are excited about the opportunity to work on even bigger projects with an industry leader like Pomerleau. Most importantly, you are a team player and natural communicator who will maintain client satisfaction as a top priority at all times.

Qualifications include:

  • Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management degree/diploma from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum (5) years’ experience working as a project manager in the general contracting or construction management sector working on ICI projects;
  • Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes, and relevant legislation;
  • A proven track record of successful project leadership and team collaboration;
  • A passion for building and nurturing exceptional stakeholder relationships;
  • Experience with BIM and 3D model use would be considered an asset;
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills are required;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from various disciplines.
