Senior Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical

Meridia is supporting a large and successful global pipe manufacturer and services business with their search for a Sr. Maintenance Supervisor.

 

Work with a diverse team in an environment with opportunities for career-related learning and growth on a day shift (8 am - 5 pm) and in a unionized environment. Support with relocation expenses can be provided.

Responsibilities:  

  • Optimize equipment reliability and maintainability by:
    • Defining maintenance strategies for each system
    • Developing and overseeing Preventive Maintenance plan execution
    • Ensuring systematic failure, problem, and performance analysis
    • Defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities
    • Providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas
  • Conduct and oversee inspections within area of responsibility
  • Ensure technical resource availability by maintaining suitable minimum stock levels
  • Support Engineering in:
    • Researching and assessing optimal equipment options
    • Assisting with new equipment startup
    • Providing expertise in area-specific definitions
  • Prepare maintenance cost budget and manage expenses within agreed limits
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards:
    • Follow HSE procedures
    • Report incidents and observations
    • Perform inspections and participate in investigations
    • Implement preventive/corrective actions
    • Maintain up-to-date risk analyses and environmental aspect assessments
  • Contribute to maintenance information systems development:
    • Support actions as required
    • Analyze and utilize information to aid decision-making
  • Participate in maintenance programs aimed at minimizing/optimizing energy usage
  • Analyze, interpret, and recommend solutions for complex issues
  • Interact autonomously with internal and external contacts
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and management standards:
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Proactively manage staff:
    • Motivate, coach, and develop team members
    • Handle HR activities in accordance with established norms and procedures
  • Safeguard assigned facilities, equipment, and physical resources from damage, theft, or misuse

Qualifications:  

  • Electrical engineering/certification and 5+ years of progressive experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience maintaining heavy industrial manufacturing equipment (e.g., AC and DC Motor drives, VFD systems, hydraulic systems) and with sensor and transducer devices, mechanical transmission equipment, power distribution and motor control systems, and PLCs and digital/electrical control systems.
  • Experience with electrical/electronic equipment inspection techniques and predictive maintenance.
  • Ability to perform failure analysis and provide solution-based ideas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per the requirement of the mill.
  • Experience with CMMS systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Office applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and high ability to problem solve.

Salary: $95K-$110K
