Meridia Recruitment is pleased to partner with the Teachers’ Pension Plan Corporation (TPPC) in the search for a Director of IT and Risk Management.
This role is responsible for the leadership and operational execution of the organization's information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and enterprise risk management (ERM) functions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering an integrated IT, AI, and risk management strategy aligned with organizational priorities and the strategic plan, ensuring that these capabilities support operational resilience, best practices, and fiduciary responsibilities.
The Director establishes, maintains, and advances governance, priorities, and direction across the organization's technology and risk management functions while leading the implementation and delivery of the initiatives, controls, and programs that support those objectives. Working closely with internal stakeholders, external service providers, and the executive team, the Director ensures systems are secure, reliable, and efficient, proactively manages organizational risk, and supports informed decision-making. Fostering a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement across TPPC is key to the role.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, external service providers, and the executive team, the Director ensures systems are secure, reliable, and efficient, proactively manages organizational risk, and supports informed decision-making. Fostering a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement across TPPC is key to the role.
What You Will Do
- Lead the organization’s IT strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk management program.
- Develop and execute a technology roadmap that supports modernization, business continuity, and long-term organizational goals.
- Oversee enterprise technology architecture, infrastructure, systems, data management, and cloud-based solutions.
- Manage IT operations, budgets, vendors, contracts, and service delivery to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective technology services.
- Drive AI strategy and governance, promoting responsible adoption while managing AI-related risks and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Lead cybersecurity and information security programs, including threat management, incident response, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and maintain technology policies, governance frameworks, standards, and internal controls.
- Lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Advise senior leadership on technology, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk matters.
- Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and organizational readiness.
- Ensure technology solutions effectively support pension administration, investment management, and operational excellence.
- Monitor emerging technology, cybersecurity, and risk trends to strengthen organizational resilience and performance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or related field; a Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC), completed or in progress, is considered an asset.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT strategy, operations, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk management.
- Experience working with executive leadership.
- Experience in the pension sector or other regulated industries (e.g., financial services, public sector) is considered an asset.
- Proven leader recognized for building trusted relationships, inspiring high performance, and ability to influence across the organization.
