This is a unique opportunity to join a developing function, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and help shape how industry-leading naval systems are supported throughout their entire lifecycle.

Role Description:

The Sustainment Engineer, ILS is instrumental in overseeing system reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle product support throughout the development and sustainment of GeoSpectrum's systems.

This position collaborates with customers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Materials, and Major Programs to translate customer feedback into system performance development, future product design, and recommend maintenance, support, and sustainability solutions. From design reviews and logistics analysis through delivery and in-service support, this role helps ensure customers have the training, documentation, tools, spare parts, and maintenance strategies needed to maximize system availability and performance.

This position offers significant variety and visibility across the organization. One day may involve reviewing design decisions and assessing reliability risks, while the next may focus on customer support planning, logistics analysis, maintenance strategies, or collaborating with manufacturing teams to support fielded systems.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate supportability, maintainability, and reliability requirements into product designs.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing recommendations to improve lifecycle performance and ease of maintenance.
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conducting Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) activities, including reliability, maintainability, sparing, and lifecycle support assessments.
  • Evaluating engineering changes and assessing impacts to maintenance, training, documentation, spare parts, and customer support requirements.
  • Working with Manufacturing, Procurement, Technical Publications, Training, and Field Service teams to develop support solutions.
  • Supporting the development of maintenance plans, support equipment requirements, training materials, technical documentation, and provisioning strategies.
  • Engaging directly with customer representatives to understand support requirements and contribute to long-term sustainment planning.
  • Supporting product delivery, warranty, and in-service support activities by identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting with proposal development and ILS planning activities for new business opportunities.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of ILS processes, tools, templates, and best practices.

Your Qualifications:
You are a collaborative professional who enjoys solving practical problems and working across a broad range of technical and operational disciplines. You understand that successful engineering extends beyond product delivery and includes ensuring systems can be reliably operated, maintained, and supported throughout their lifecycle. As the ideal candidate, you possess strong communication skills, have confidence participating in technical discussions, and have the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and customers.

Key qualifications include:
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Sustainment Engineering, Product Support Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of lifecycle product support concepts, including reliability, maintainability, supply support, provisioning, training, or sustainment planning.
  • Experience working within complex technical or engineering environments.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and international customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build productive relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively considering international time zones.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Government Security (Level- Reliability) clearances.

Assets include:
  • Experience supporting naval, marine, aerospace, defence, military, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), RAM analysis, FMECA, LORA, lifecycle cost analysis, or related methodologies.
  • Background as a Systems Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Naval Technical Officer, military technical specialist, or sustainment professional.
  • Familiarity with defence standards and customer requirements.
  • Experience working directly with customers throughout product delivery and in-service support activities.
