Over the last five years, The Wilson Group has entered a significant new chapter of growth. To support this momentum, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the CFO, this role offers an ambitious accounting professional the opportunity to broaden their business acumen, gain exposure across multiple operating companies, and continue developing toward future leadership opportunities within the organization.
Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership, the Senior Accountant will contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, helping translate financial information into meaningful insights that support operational and strategic decision-making across the business.

Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership, the Senior Accountant will contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, helping translate financial information into meaningful insights that support operational and strategic decision-making across the business.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, and year-end processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Monitor operational and financial performance and provide actionable insights to support decision-making
- Assist with inventory accounting and reporting across multiple business units
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to strengthen reporting accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
- Support strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with business leaders to explain financial information and provide insight into operational performance
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as the organization continues to grow and evolve
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting and business management systems
- The ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
- Experience within inventory, retail, distribution, multi-location, or similarly complex operating environments would be considered an asset
- A CPA designation or active pursuit of the designation would be considered an asset but is not required
