MacKay Meters is a recognized world leader in the parking control industry, designing, manufacturing, and selling a full suite of leading-edge parking equipment, accessories, and proprietary software. Based in Nova Scotia, the company has been delivering parking solutions to clients worldwide for over 60 years.
Position Scope:
The Senior Software Developer will bring strong C/C++ expertise and a background in firmware development to design, build, and maintain embedded software for MacKay Meters' product line. Working closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams, this individual will play a key role in delivering robust, reliable products while mentoring team members along the way.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality embedded firmware in C and C++
- Debug complex issues spanning firmware, hardware, and system integration
- Participate in design and code reviews, upholding best practices in embedded software development
- Develop and execute unit tests, system validation, and integration tests
- Author and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and user guides
- Mentor and support fellow team members
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands on experience in embedded systems development using C and C++
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
