Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with IMP Aerostructures to recruit an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance function across IMP Aerostructures’ operations, ensuring all equipment, facilities, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will oversee and develop a skilled maintenance team, driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

In this role, you will coordinate and direct the design, planning, maintenance, and modification of machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities, ensuring performance aligns with operational goals and regulatory requirements. You will also play a key role in environmental compliance initiatives and in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support production continuity.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning, assigning, and supervising the work of the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Managing and continuously improving the preventative maintenance (PM) system to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Ensuring cost, schedule, and quality targets are consistently achieved in an efficient manner.
  • Maintaining a high standard of equipment reliability, facility upkeep, and workplace organization.
  • Overseeing contractor relationships, including negotiating and managing sub-contracted maintenance services.
  • Leading fire safety compliance, including inspections of alarm and sprinkler systems and execution of the Fire Safety Plan in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the development, monitoring, and reporting of environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with Health & Safety to proactively resolve safety and environmental issues.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing team members, ensuring appropriate training and certifications are maintained.
  • Promoting a disciplined, high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Your Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you are a strong people leader with hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment. You bring a practical, solutions-oriented approach, combined with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in maintenance operations.

Your qualifications include:
  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with strong communication and team development skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general maintenance systems.
  • Eligibility to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), ITAR, and Government of Canada security clearances.
