The Plant Manufacturing Director will lead a complex manufacturing operation with responsibility for delivering results across safety, quality, service, productivity, cost management, and workforce engagement. This individual will champion operational excellence, drive performance through data-informed decision-making, and ensure resources are aligned to achieve business objectives.
A visible and engaged leader, the successful candidate will be comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, building credibility with frontline employees, developing leaders, and driving execution through strong communication and follow-through.

What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of site operations, ensuring performance objectives are achieved across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, improve asset utilization, and strengthen overall operational performance.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary leadership team across operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and support functions.
- Manage site budgets, operating costs, capital investments, and resource planning to achieve financial and operational objectives.
- Oversee maintenance and reliability programs to maximize equipment uptime and operational effectiveness.
- Champion workforce engagement, leadership development, succession planning, and organizational capability-building initiatives.
- Partner effectively with corporate stakeholders and other functional leaders to support strategic priorities and long-term business goals.
Your Qualifications
The successful candidate is an experienced manufacturing leader with a proven track record of leading complex operations and delivering sustained business results. They bring strong operational discipline, strategic perspective, and the ability to inspire high levels of performance across teams.
Your qualifications include:
- A Post-secondary education in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
- Progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial, consumer products, food production, or similarly complex operating environment.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale operations, business transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
- Experience building and developing high-performing leadership teams and engaged workforces.
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including responsibility for budgets, productivity, cost management, and capital planning.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills, combined with a highly visible and collaborative leadership style.
- Experience working within a unionized environment is considered a strong asset.
