We are excited to partner with them as we look to bring an operational and hands-on accounting professional to their team in the role of Assistant Controller!
As Assistant Controller, you will work closely with the executive team to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and reporting. As an early-stage company scaling quickly, this role goes beyond traditional accounting — you will also play a key operational role in managing many of the company’s administrative functions as well as future growth and financing situations. You will help shape the financial and administrative controls of Galaxia while supporting its mission to deliver space-based intelligence at scale.

Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage financial and administrative policies, procedures, and controls.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (AR, PR, Billing, Payroll and expense, etc.)
- Prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts and sub-ledgers, monitor cash flow, and provide risk analysis.
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making
- Provide administrative support to the leadership team; vendor selection, contract management, pricing analysis, project cost analysis, proposal preparation, document management, insurance and legal, government funding, business intel and internal key metric reporting (operational and financial).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize working capital and support fundraising efforts.
- Ensure tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Implement and improve financial systems and tools to support scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial processes with business operations.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years of experience in progressive accounting roles, ideally with public accounting training.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of GAAP, financial modelling, and budgeting.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems and other accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
