Our client, FWH Chartered Professional Accountants, is a well-established boutique accounting firm that offers highly specialized and personalized services for practicing physicians. They provide customized strategies for their clients to help them achieve their financial goals. We are excited to be leading the recruitment efforts to bring a Principal to their team. 

Reporting to the Partners, the Principal will hold primary responsibility for managing their own book of business, ensuring clients receive high-quality service while delivering strategic financial, tax, and compensation planning advice. This leadership role also plays a key part in mentoring staff, driving client growth, and supporting firm-wide initiatives. 

Responsibilities will include: 
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing engagements from initial consultation through to completion. 
  • Leading prospective client meetings, advising on incorporation and the firm’s service approach. 
  • Reviewing compensation structures and tax planning strategies. 
  • Reviewing personal and corporate income tax returns. 
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring client deliverables are completed on time to a high standard. 
  • Managing client billing, collections, and engagement profitability. 
  • Providing mentorship, coaching, and ongoing support to staff, including reviewing work and delivering feedback. 
  • Assisting with review of tax and accounting work during busy periods. 
  • Delivering presentations and contributing to firm promotion and business development efforts. 
  • Managing the onboarding of new clients, including transition meetings, client education, and relationship development. 
  • Participating in leadership activities, including team meetings and firm initiatives. 

The ideal candidate will possess: 
  • A CPA designation 
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Manager or equivalent leadership role within a public accounting or professional services firm. 
  • Strong client relationship management skills with experience overseeing a book of business. 
  • Expertise in tax planning, compensation strategies, and engagement review. 
  • Proven leadership ability with a passion for mentoring and developing team members. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent and promote the firm. 
  • In-depth tax training would be considered an asset
