Role Description:
Reporting to the CEO and Owner, the Project Manager, will lead the successful delivery of complex industrial and commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on food processing and cold storage environments. You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to closeout, ensuring alignment across design, procurement, schedule, and execution. This role requires a technical, hands-on leader who is comfortable engaging directly with field teams and trade partners, and navigating fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.
By joining Sealand Building Group, you will play a key role in delivering specialized projects across Atlantic Canada, including facilities that demand precise coordination of building systems such as refrigeration, panels, as well as mechanical and concrete trades. You will work closely with in-house architects and external consultants throughout the design and construction phases, contributing both technically and operationally. - Lead full lifecycle project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout;
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, procurement, and cost control;
- Collaborate with in-house design teams and external consultants during pre-construction to ensure constructability and alignment;
- Oversee tendering, trade coordination, and contract administration across mechanical and other specialty trades;
- Maintain a strong on-site presence, leading field execution ensuring compliance with safety programs;
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, site challenges, and schedule pressures in fast-paced environments;
- Lead communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, addressing challenges directly and effectively;
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement;
- Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, and schedule expectations in high-pressure, time-sensitive settings.
As the ideal candidate, you are a technical and hands-on construction professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. You bring strong experience in industrial or commercial construction. You are confident in having direct, sometimes difficult conversations, and you balance strong leadership with a personable, collaborative approach.
Your qualifications should include:
- 5+ years of experience managing industrial or commercial construction projects;
- Strong technical understanding of building systems and specialized construction environments;
- Experience delivering projects from pre-construction through closeout, including design coordination;
- Proven ability to manage high-pressure, schedule-driven projects with a strong sense of urgency and client satisfaction;
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to delegate, mentor, and build strong teams;
- Strong communication skills with confidence in addressing complex project issues directly;
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in construction and project management software tools;
- Willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada, with projects based in HRM, New Brunswick, and PEI.
