Founded in 1935, our client Rodd Hotels & Resorts is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest privately owned hotel and resort companies. A third-generation, family-owned business, Rodd Hotels & Resorts operates seven full-service hotels and resort properties across Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, including well-known destinations such as Rodd Brudenell River Resort and Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort.

We are excited to be partnering with Rodd Hotels & Resorts in their search for a highly motivated and experienced Director of Finance. Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight across all properties and corporate functions of Rodd Hotels & Resorts.

Based in Charlottetown, PEI, this role will lead the organization’s finance and accounting operations, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, disciplined planning, and insightful analysis to support executive decision-making. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Director of Finance will act as a trusted advisor to ownership and senior leaders, supporting the long-term sustainability and success of the business.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the President & CEO and executive team, supporting long-term planning, risk management, and business decision-making
  • Oversee all corporate and property-level financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysis
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting across a multi-property portfolio
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor performance against financial targets
  • Oversee cash flow management and financing arrangements
  • Lead capital planning and financial analysis related to renovations, development projects, and asset reinvestment
  • Oversee and manage external audit processes, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strengthen financial controls, policies, systems, and processes to support consistency and scalability
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the finance team, including corporate and site-based staff
  • Promote continuous improvement through the use of technology, best practices, and disciplined financial management

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) 
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets, cash management, audits, and capital planning
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial systems, and risk management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams within a collaborative, relationship-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Practical, hands-on leadership style with sound judgment and high integrity
