Meridia Recruitment Solutions is pleased to partner with MacKay in the search for a Product Support Specialist/Electronics Technician to join their engineering team in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.
Role Description
As a Product Support Specialist, you will play a key role at the intersection of engineering, product development, and customer support. You will develop deep technical expertise across MacKay’s product suite, including parking meters and backend management systems, while contributing directly to product improvement and customer success.
This is a hands-on, technically diverse role suited for someone who enjoys understanding how products work end-to-end and engaging directly with both internal teams and external customers.

Role Description
As a Product Support Specialist, you will play a key role at the intersection of engineering, product development, and customer support. You will develop deep technical expertise across MacKay’s product suite, including parking meters and backend management systems, while contributing directly to product improvement and customer success.
This is a hands-on, technically diverse role suited for someone who enjoys understanding how products work end-to-end and engaging directly with both internal teams and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop a strong working knowledge of MacKay’s hardware and software products, including parking meters and the Sentinel management system.
- Support product engineering activities including issue tracking, analysis, testing, and resolution.
- Contribute to product development, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across production and customer environments.
- Create and maintain manufacturing and testing documentation, including procedures and bill of materials.
- Design, implement, and support test equipment and production test processes.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and external partners to support product performance and quality.
- Act as a technical resource for customers, supporting inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong working relationships.
- Participate in customer meetings, training sessions, and occasional on-site support visits.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Experience working in an electronics manufacturing or technical support environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and system-level issues.
- Solid understanding of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs).
- Experience with computer hardware configuration and basic networking concepts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred / Asset Experience
- Experience with schematic capture or PCB layout tools (e.g., ORCAD).
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and digital/analog circuits.
- Experience supporting fielded products or working directly with customers.
- High-reliability soldering experience.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
- Ability to obtain a Canadian passport.
