MacKay Meters is a Nova Scotia-based, globally recognized leader in parking control solutions with over 60 years of industry experience. The company designs, manufactures, and sells a comprehensive suite of parking equipment, accessories, and proprietary software to clients worldwide.
Position Scope:
The Integration Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the integration of MacKay Meters' applications and ensuring optimal system performance. This role involves designing and implementing integration solutions, providing technical support to the customer base, and acting as a key liaison between development teams and end users. Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset are essential to success in this position.

The Integration Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the integration of MacKay Meters' applications and ensuring optimal system performance. This role involves designing and implementing integration solutions, providing technical support to the customer base, and acting as a key liaison between development teams and end users. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain services used in application integrations.
- Design integration solutions and document them in accordance with best practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to architect, build, and implement application integrations.
- Develop and maintain data integration components, including SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and front-end integration.
- Support resolution of system defects, acting as a liaison and developing technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Apply sound knowledge of event-driven systems, schema mapping, and exception handling.
- Manage source code using Subversion or GIT version control tools.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow procedures and resolve exceptions.
- Demonstrated ability to design and document software solutions.
- Experience writing Web Services using JSON, RESTful, or SOAP, including fault-tolerant code.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL database development.
- Knowledge of integration architectures and protocols including REST, XML, FTP, WSDL, and SOAP.
- Experience with PHP and secure transmission practices.
- Proficiency in Linux command line, BASH scripting, and shell scripting.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of customer service.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work within tight deadlines.
