We are excited to partner with Nova Leap Health Corp. in their search for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join their growing and dynamic team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Nova Leap is an acquisitive home health care services company operating in one of the fastest-growing industries in the U.S. & Canada. The Company performs a vital role within the continuum of care with an individual and family centered focus, particularly those requiring dementia care. Nova Leap operates across 8 U.S. states and in Nova Scotia, and continues to expand through strategic acquisitions.

This senior accounting role is responsible for corporate-level accounting, legal entity consolidation, and external financial reporting. The position serves as the primary preparer of consolidated financial information and technical accounting analysis, operating under the review and direction of the Corporate Controller. The role ensures the integrity of corporate accounting across Canada and the United States and supports audit readiness, regulatory reporting, and complex accounting matters.

As the organization grows, the Manager, Financial Reporting acts as the central hub for consolidation, technical accounting, financial reporting, and corporate-level compliance activities.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Perform corporate accounting for Canadian and United States Parent entities. 
  • Lead legal entity consolidation of Canadian and U.S. entities, including intercompany transactions, funding activities, and corporate allocations. 
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and external disclosures in accordance with IFRS, including MD&A, supporting schedules, and board and regulatory reporting materials. 
  • Support technical accounting matters, including research, documentation, and analysis related to acquisitions, goodwill, impairment testing, leases, revenue recognition, and other complex transactions. 
  • Coordinate audit and compliance activities, including preparation of audit working papers, responding to auditor requests, and supporting lender reporting. 
  • Assist with income tax compliance, including preparation of supporting schedules and coordination with external tax advisors for Canadian and U.S. filings. 
  • Provide oversight and guidance across legal entities, supporting subsidiary accountants, reviewing selected entity results, and promoting consistent accounting policies and practices. 
  • Administer corporate-level financial programs, including oversight of intercompany processes and the corporate credit card program across all entities. 
  • Drive financial reporting process improvements, including development of standardized templates, enhancement of consolidation workflows, and support of automation and reporting tools.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to consolidation and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with external financial reporting (public company experience is an asset).
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise or similar) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
