Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Parts for Trucks, a national leader in heavy-duty parts distribution and service operations, to recruit a Director of Human Resources to join their team in either Dartmouth, NS or Calgary, AB, supporting a coast‑to‑coast workforce.

Role Description:

As the Director of Human Resources, you will be accountable for all HR, Payroll, and Health & Safety functions across the national organization. Reporting directly to the President, you will provide governance, structure, and leadership through an important period of organizational change. You will be a key strategic advisor while also being highly visible in the field - meeting teams face-to-face, supporting leaders, and driving consistency across branches in multiple provinces.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide strategic HR leadership to the President and Executive Team, aligning people strategies with business growth and operational goals;
  • Accountable for workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives across a multi-site, national operations;
  • Accountable for talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning to build a high‑performing workforce;
  • Direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR programs, policies, and governance frameworks;
  • Accountable for total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, job architecture, and payroll governance across all jurisdictions;
  • Accountable for workplace health & safety programs, ensuring compliance, proactive risk management, and a strong safety culture;
  • Provide HR analytics, benchmarking, and reporting to guide executive decision‑making and operational effectiveness;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR, Payroll, and Health & Safety teams to deliver high-quality service and support to leaders and employees.
Your Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned HR executive with a strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and a proven track record leading people functions in complex, multisite operational environments. You bring depth in talent strategy, organizational development, and total rewards, paired with the confidence and executive presence needed to advise senior leadership and influence organizational direction. You thrive in both strategic and handson work, excel at driving change, and build strong, trustbased relationships across all levels of the organization. You are excited for the chance to shape enterpriselevel people strategy, influence executive decisionmaking, and drive meaningful organizational change across a growing, multisite national operation.

Your qualifications will include:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior‑level responsibility and oversight of safety programs;
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education);
  • CPHR designation or similar HR accreditation considered a strong asset;
  • Proven experience leading HR strategy in a multi‑site, operational, industrial, or field‑based environment such as heavy-duty truck and trailer parts distribution, industrial supply, construction equipment dealerships, automotive parts, fleet services, or related B2B distribution;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executives, lead organizational change, and support both strategic and hands‑on HR delivery;
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence and post‑acquisition integration;
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance long‑term strategic planning with day‑to‑day operational execution;
  • Comfortable using HR technology, workforce analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, Power BI);
  • Ability to travel nationally;
  • Bilingual capability (English/French) would be an asset.
