The Opportunity
Sea Centric Inc., is seeking a General Manager to join its growing team. Their Industrial Division is set to operate a fully equipped machine and fabrication shop specializing in ship repair, marine mechanical and structural work, machining, millwright services, and custom fabrication.
The General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial management of the Industrial Division. Reporting directly to the CEO of Sea Centric Inc., this role provides clear oversight of all machine shop, welding and fabrication, and marine service operations.

What You Will Be Doing
- Provide overall leadership for machining, fabrication, welding, marine mechanical, and mobile service operations.
- Develop and refine operational strategies, processes, and procedures in alignment with Sea Centric's corporate goals.
- Lead long term planning initiatives to support modernization and future industry ramp up.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, ASME, CWB, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the revitalization and modernization of the machine shop's operational structure.
- Oversee estimation, costing, and bid development across multiple industries—onshore, offshore, and government tenders.
- Ensure accurate, competitive, and timely cost proposals aligned with business objectives.
- Build, modernize, and maintain an effective procurement system for parts, materials, and equipment.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Oversee supply chain management for Sea Centric’s fleet and operations, ensuring reliability, cost effectiveness, and quality.
- Oversee budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
- Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, and project performance to support profitability.
- Build and maintain strong customer and industry relationships to support business retention and growth.
- Ensure rigorous quality control across all fabrication, machining, and repair activities.
- Uphold and grow the company’s Safety Management System and maintain COR certification.
- Ensure all work meets customer specifications and technical standards.
- Lead and develop a team of tradespeople, supervisors, and technical professionals.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for major clients and complex operational or technical challenges.
- Post secondary education in business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in industrial, marine, manufacturing, or related technical environments.
- Experience leading people, operations, and budgets in a technical or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of machining, welding, fabrication, or marine/mechanical services.
- Experience with estimation and costing across multiple sectors, including government tenders.
- Experience with procurement systems, vendor management, and supply chain oversight is a strong asset.
- Experience working with or managing within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- A results driven leader with strong business acumen, customer focus, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
