Meridia Recruitment Solutions is pleased to partner with DAC Industrial Engines in the search for a Service Advisor based in Dartmouth, NS. Founded in 2005, DAC is a privately held engine company serving a wide variety of markets across Atlantic Canada, including agriculture, construction machinery, welding, compressors, material handling, marine, pumps and irrigation, forestry, ground support, and mining.

As authorized representatives of leading global manufacturers, DAC goes beyond standard supply by tailoring engines and solutions to meet each customer’s specific needs. Role Description

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a critical customer-facing role and would be responsible for coordinating service requests, supporting the service team, and ensuring customers receive exceptional communication throughout the repair and maintenance process. Acting as the primary link between customers and technicians, you will contribute to efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and a seamless service experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service
  • Greet customers, listen to their needs, and help identify equipment concerns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-ins and incoming service calls.
  • Clearly explain repair work, timelines, and options to customers.
  • Communicate progress updates and ensure a professional, customer-focused experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers and contract clients.
Service Coordination & Administration
  • Create, assign, and accurately maintain work orders.
  • Prepare quotes, process invoices, create warranty claims, and handle payments.
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager and technicians to schedule and prioritize work.
  • Ensure work orders contain complete and accurate information before submission to the Service Administrator.
  • Assist with identifying, sourcing, and providing technicians with commonly used or fast-moving parts.
Operational Support
  • Help ensure the service department operates efficiently and maintains a positive customer experience.
  • Support shop workflow by coordinating time, parts, and technician resources.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work culture.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Service Advisor, Service Coordinator, or similar role (equipment/industrial environment preferred).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical concepts (engine and equipment knowledge an asset; technician background not required).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, and service software experience).
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Why Join DAC?
  • Small, supportive, family oriented culture where people genuinely enjoy working together and new team members are welcomed into a close knit environment.
  • Work with great customers, primarily repeat contract clients, allowing you to build long term relationships without the individual consumer pressures found in other industries.
  • Room to grow in a company that actively promotes from within and offers opportunities across multiple locations as the business expands.
  • A role built for balance, where you focus on customers and technicians while administrative heavy lifting is supported by a dedicated Service Administrator.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including hourly pay with commission opportunities, medical coverage, team lunches, BBQs, paid vacation and a comprehensive benefits package.
