Role Description

The Intermediate-Senior Architectural Technologist/Technician plays a key role in delivering projects from early concept through construction. In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Architects, internal team members, and external consultants and contractors to ensure technical excellence at every stage. You’ll take ownership of project tasks, manage deadlines independently, and contribute meaningfully within a collaborative studio environment. Your work will span all project phases, including design development, detailed drafting, construction coordination, and on‑site oversight, helping to maintain quality, consistency, and smooth project delivery across the board.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with Architects and Designers to develop detailed architectural drawings and plans.
  • Aiding in the preparation of construction documents and providing quality control oversight.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Coordinating with engineers and contractors to verify design compliance.
  • Reviewing and revising drawings based on feedback from clients and project stakeholders.
  • Maintaining organized project files and documentation.
  • Leading technical coordination efforts and conducting peer reviews of drawing packages.
  • Managing contract administration tasks during construction phases.
  • Providing mentorship to more junior Technologists.
Qualifications

Your qualifications include: 
  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology.
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist or Technician.
  • Strong Revit experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, bylaws, construction methods, and detailing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and produce design and construction drawings.
  • Strong design skills (plans, elevations, details, 3D visualization).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Experience coordinating with project stakeholders and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Skilled in time and cost estimation.
  • Strong technical writing abilities.
  • Software proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace/Drive, BIM 360.
  • Interest in integrating emerging AI tools into workflows.
  • C.Tech or P.Tech designation (or ability to obtain).
Additional Assets
  • Broad and diverse project experience.
  • Ability to travel within NS and NB when needed.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainable design and energy efficiency.
