Meridia Recruitment is proud to partner with The Shaw Group in the search for a highly capable Logistics Manager who will play a key role in overseeing load movement, operational efficiency, and on time deliveries.

Role Description:

Reporting to the Shaw Transport General Manager, you will be a vital member of the Shaw Transport team. You will draw on your logistics expertise, strong organizational skills, and sound judgment to optimize operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to commercial transport safety regulations and ensure safe operations on and off the road.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the safe, timely delivery of products, ensuring they arrive in the expected condition.
  • Track asset utilization and location to assign routes effectively and support preventative maintenance for tractors and trailers.
  • Lead and support Shaw Transport drivers by overseeing load assignments, providing dispatch details, and maintaining systems related to safety, hours of service, maintenance, and more.
  • Identify cost effective transportation methods and negotiate contracts to support operational efficiency.
  • Deliver timely, professional responses to customer inquiries, strengthening service excellence.
  • Adapt to unforeseen challenges, including road disruptions and regulatory changes, while maintaining continuity of operations.
  • Maintain accurate records, including invoicing, payroll, IFTA reporting, and carrier profiles.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support customer relationships, divisional productivity, and strategic partnerships.
Your Qualifications:

You are an experienced leader with a strong track record managing complex, fast moving logistics environments. You excel at communication, relationship building, and staying composed in high-pressure situations.

Your qualifications include:
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Minimum 3 years of logistics management or dispatch experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long term relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to multi task while delivering excellent customer service.
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to after hours needs as required.
  • A high level of integrity, accountability, and reliability.
  • Ability to adapt easily to evolving operational demands.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint), dispatching software, and other digital tools.
