Atlantic Lottery’s Social Purpose is to make a game changing impact for the people and places of Atlantic Canada — and we’re looking for a leader who can help us deliver on that promise. As a purpose driven, publicly owned corporation, we return 100% of our profits to the Atlantic provinces, strengthening the communities we call home and ensuring the benefits of regulated gaming stay in our region.

We are the only 100% legal and government regulated provider of online gaming and sports betting in Atlantic Canada, and we’re committed to integrity, transparency, and healthy play. Beyond the game, our impact is long lasting — and leaders at Atlantic Lottery help shape that impact at a provincial, community, and enterprise level.

Our client is seeking a strategic leader with the vision and influence to shape enterprise wide compliance direction.

If you’re energized by big picture problem solving, enterprise transformation, and shaping modern compliance programs — this role offers the chance to do work that truly matters.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Risk & Assurance, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of Atlantic Lottery’s AML and compliance functions. As a new role for Atlantic Lottery, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate AML and compliance capabilities at an enterprise level. You will influence decisions that directly impact the organization’s long term success across retail, digital, and iGaming channels.

This is not a maintenance role — it’s a leadership mandate with real room to build, modernize, and innovate.

What You’ll Lead

In this role, you will:
  • Set the strategic direction for AML and compliance programs and modernize them for the future.
  • Shape risk informed decisions that impact the entire organization — from digital innovation to retail strategy.
  • Advise executive leaders and the Audit & Risk Committee on enterprise level risks, compliance trends, and regulatory expectations.
  • Guide high stakes investigations tied to gaming integrity, financial crime, and player protection.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with regulators, shareholders, and government partners.
  • Lead and inspire a high performing team to think differently, elevate capability, and adopt new ways of working.
  • Drive innovation through analytics, automation, and emerging technologies.

What We’re Looking For

This role is built for someone who:
  • Thrives on strategic thinking — someone who sees patterns, connections, and enterprise risks that others miss.
  • Can step above daily operations and build long term, future ready compliance programs.
  • Influences confidently at executive and Board levels.
  • Understands complex regulatory environments and can turn that knowledge into clear direction.
  • Builds high trust relationships across the organization and with external regulators.
  • Loves modernizing systems, exploring new technologies, and strengthening organizational resilience.
  • Wants to contribute to something bigger — public good, community impact, and responsible gaming.

Ideal Background
  • Leadership experience in a regulated sector (gaming, financial services, government, etc.)
  • Deep AML expertise, including investigations and regulatory oversight
  • Strategic and enterprise-level thinking, not just operational execution
  • Familiarity with PCMLTFA, FINTRAC expectations, and provincial gaming regulations
  • Experience leading teams undergoing modernization or transformation
  • Background with analytics, automation, or risk technologies (an asset)
  • Professional designations such as CAMS, CPA, CIA, or similar (preferred)
